A New Soul Motion Committed Series

We'll meet for 6 weeks with the same committed group of dance explorers, and travel the spiral path into and out of ourselves. We'll notice the shapes we make as we move alone and together, how they change (or don't), and witness/be inspired by our fellow travelers. As always, I'll offer bracing music, some poetic prompts and perspectives, as well as body- and heart-based inquiries to stir our creative pot. Opportunities to write or draw or (shh, don't tell anyone) use words may arise in the moment. Please come willing to keep your camera on, participate as fully as you can, and we'll have a time of it!

Soul Motion® Unveiled: 4/25 with MZ and Camilla

Just beneath the surface, informed by the fear of isolation or the resilience of intention, a chance, dear dancer artists, to revel in the revealing. Camilla and Michael Z are thrilled to collaborate once again in this daylong workshop emerging from the life work of Vincent Arjuna Martínez-Greico. Camilla says, "What is ready to be lit will unfold as we brave through the wilderness, alone and together. We can surrender to seeing and being seen by self and other in our vulnerability, give voice to our truths as we show up for ourselves, another, the community and spirit."Michael Z says, "When we soften to what is, we allow what is true to emerge in gesture and stillness. Soul Motion® Foundations! Berkeley Feb. 2020

Soul Motion is a practice where we cultivate our capacity to listen to that profound body wisdom and to the quiet whisperings of our souls. Foundations is open to everyone interested in the fundamentals of the work. It is a pre-requisite for the Soul Motion Teacher Training Program and is based on the lifework of Vinn Arjuna Martí.

This five-day immersion is for those just beginning their Soul Motion path as well as for seasoned movers looking to refresh. Emphasis is on Soul Motion’s four movement landscapes — dancing alone, dancing with another, dancing with everyone, dancing in the everyday — with special focus on the platforms of pause presence, orbit orientation and echo inspiration.
